Studio Drift is known for their impressive installations and sculptures that explore the relationship between nature, technology and mankind. Established in 2007 by Lonneke Gordihn and Ralph Nauta, their product and furniture design has evolved into larger, often site-specific, moving installations worldwide. Data and algorithms derived from natural phenomena often form the basis for their work. The studio collaborates with scientists, programmers, engineers and other specialists to translate data into poetic, meditative experiences. Studio Drift is a cultural partnership between Futurecity and Pace, and its installations are exhibited at leading museums, fairs and institutes such as the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), and World Expo (Shanghai).
